Today an Aboriginal lady named Faith came to visit us to share games and materials from her culture.
We played a ball throwing game and learnt that she used empty bean pods to play the same game in her childhood.
She also brought some cultural treasures such as shells which can be carved into fishing hooks, rocks which can be carved into tools, clapping sticks for music and even a boomerang.
Natalie, April, Imogen and Ayden thoroughly enjoyed having a go of throwing the boomerang, with Faith coaching them to use the correct throwing technique.
All in all, it was a fun and enjoyable afternoon for the children who got involved!
