Last term, Killara Kids stared building a partnership with Handprints, our local Early Childhood service, to form relationships with our new kindergarten children who will be transitioning to Killara Public School and Killara Kids in 2018.
This is a wonderful way for the educators to meet the children, build relationships and allow them to know a familiar face when they make the big move into kindergarten next year. We believe it will be beneficial to share professional knowledge with their current educators & learn about what they are interested in and ensure our program reflects the current interests of each individual child
At Killara Kids we believe transition is a milestone not only in a child’s life but their families as well, therefore, building relationships early on helps promote a smooth and less daunting transition. I aim to visit Handprints on different occasions during Term 3 & 4 to get to know our little ones and would love to open up that same opportunity to other Early Childhood centers that your children currently attend.
If this is something you would like for your child before they begin next year, please send me an email with your child’s service they currently attend and the days they are enrolled for so that I can contact the service directly and hopefully organise a time for me to visit and get to know your child.
If you have any questions or queries, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
